About Stephen Witt
Stephen Witt was born in New Hampshire in 1979 and raised in Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 2001, and from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2011. His first book, a narrative history of music piracy entitled How Music Got Free, was excerpted in The New Yorker and nominated for numerous awards. His writing has also appeared in New York magazine, The New York Times, The Financial Times, and The Wall Street Journal. He lives in Los Angeles.
