About Hendrik:
I am a passionate engineer, driven by the conviction of developing technology for the benefit of humanity. My fervor is for mechatronics, especially robotic systems, where I feel challenged to make what is impossible today tomorrows commonplace. I love to lead and work with interdisciplinary teams as well as convincing them and others of innovative ideas and visions.
It all started by successfully applying industrial robots to machining applications of large parts in aerospace industry. Throughout my Bachelor Thesis and my Masters program I kept working on this topic and continued during my following time at the Fraunhofer Institute, where me and my amazing colleagues were awarded with the Robotics Award in 2018 for one of the most accurate industrial robots world wide. After I had completed my Doctoral Thesis on mobile robotic systems and gained years of experience in flexible and versatile automation systems in many projects, I decided to develop revolutionary robotic products for the future.
The robotic and automation industry, that I dedicated myself to for more than 9 years, has not changed much for decades. The kinematic design is mostly the same like in the 1950s, controllers still use the same control laws developed in the 20th century and sensors are only integrated for specific and unique use cases. However, I believe in the necessity of a revolution of this market, where new technologies will tear down the still existing walls between robots and humans. This will enable a wide range of new applications and markets beside the manufacturing industry, like social work, healthcare and food industry. Therefore me and my team are aiming to make robots smarter and more intuitive to use while increasing the performance and productivity significantly. In this way, we want to make robots accessible and usable for anyone in the world, just as naturally as computers and smartphones are used today.
My mission is to bring humans and robots closer together.
About Han's Robot:
To handle the rising global demand, companies necessitate individualized solutions which require increasingly complex production processes. Until now the cognitive abilities and experiences of humans are the integral component of those processes. However, global megatrends like the silver society will strain the ability to meet those demands in the near future. For several decades industrial robots have proven to be a general-purpose tool which plays an important role in dealing with the rising complexity. But there is still a big gap in the field of human machine interactions which prevents to merge the benefits of both worlds.
We, the Han’s Robot Germany GmbH, have the goal of closing this gap and enhancing robots’ cognitive abilities by making groundbreaking leaps in the fields of environment perception, drive technologies, control theory, material science, mechanical design and artificial intelligence.
