About Michael:
Michael Beckley founded Low Code software pioneer Appian Corporation (Nasdaq: APPN) in1999. As Chief Technology Officer, Michael leads Appian’s long-term technology strategy, oversees customer initiatives worldwide, and provides industry thought leadership in the intelligent automation space.Prior to his current roles at Appian, Michael served as Vice President of Product Strategy, VP of Marketing, managed the pre-sales consulting group, and built Appian’s recruiting team.
As Chief Customer Officer, he leads programs to improve Appian’s product, enhance the customer experience, and build strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry analysts. Aspart of his efforts, he has personally influenced the intelligent automation strategy of major Global Companies across all industries.He serves and has served on multiple boards including Appian’s Board of Directors, the Industrial Advisory Board for the University of Virginia’s Computer Science Department, and the Universityof Maryland Advisory Board in Computing. He also advises a variety of other groups including 1843 Capital, AppianWOMEN and the AppianPRIDE affinity groups.
Michael has appeared as an invited speaker at industry conferences and featured podcasts across the globe.Prior to founding Appian in 1999, he was a Product Manager and led industry analyst relations at Microstrategy Inc. He holds an AB in Government from Dartmouth College. Michael was born in Chicago, is a lifelong Cubs fan, and currently resides in Falls Church, Virginia with his wife Ana Echemendia.
